The Sisters' Current Favorites
One very special perk when visiting a sister is raiding her closet, trying on her make-up, and borrowing a book she just finished and is raving about. Upon returning home from family visits, I’ll often have a new list of items that I want to get. Meg let me try on her vitamin C serum. Or Misty let me use her blow dryer that works way better than mine back at home.
A friend told me recently that her influencer friend has been doing a bunch of social media ads for products she doesn’t even use. But they pay her well. And I don’t want to judge. Times are tough, and we’ve all got bills to pay. But on the other hand, that’s pretty lame. And in a world full of influencers raving about products that changed their life, I feel very fortunate to have sisters who can call BS before I spend my money.
I often receive texts from my sisters, like this:
“Does anyone know a good brand for super comfy hiking shoes?”
“Is there a sunscreen anyone likes that doesn’t leave a sticky white cast?”
“This perfume is the first one that lasts all day and doesn’t give me a headache!”
So, here’s a list of our current favorite products we’re sharing and texting about.
(Please note: We are NOT sponsored or affiliated with any of these products. We simply like them. That’s all. Maybe you will, too.)
Also, sorry the list is so random but… our texts and recs to each other are pretty random, too!
Pique Sun Goddess Matcha Green Tea
This is Meg’s all time favorite matcha! She loves the taste and the clean energy she feels after drinking it. The earthy flavor with just a hint of bitterness pairs perfectly with her homemade almond milk. She also appreciates how this tea comes in individual serving packets and doesn’t require a whisk. All that is needed is a quick vigorous shake.
Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm
This is Meg’s favorite bougie beauty product. For the last step of her “getting ready for the day” routine, she rubs a little of this onto her hands. The grapefruit scent and smooth texture make her feel luxurious. The smell isn’t overpowering at all. Whether she’s off to dance with one of her dance partners or going on a date with her boyfriend, she always feels more confident as she’s walking out the door after a quick application of this cream.
Stilla Waterproof Stay All Day eyeliner
Nikki loves this eyeliner because it’s very easy to use and doesn’t budge at all, even after a long day’s work grooming your pups! The pigment is amazing as well.
Warby Parker Glasses (Redding Watercress Matte)
I love how lightweight these are. I have three different Warby Parker glasses, and these are by far the lightest. It feels like I’m wearing nothing on my face. I only wish they came in more colors.
Oner Active Leggings
Misty’s the gym queen and has finally converted me. Now, to be honest, these leggings are not perfect. You do get the occasional camel toe but honestly, I haven’t found leggings that won’t do that, ever. Also, they’ve got a slight scrunch in the booty but it’s not too aggressive, which I personally like. The color I got was the “ripe fig” and they’re super cute.
Sturm Hyaluronic Serum
Misty’s the one who got me invested in skin care, and she’s the youngest! She knows to start early! My skin is very sensitive because I have eczema, so I’ve been leaning towards products that hydrate my face (like this serum) than dry it up (like retinol). The downside is, it’s very expensive, but it’ll last a long time! I haven’t tried other Sturm products but I’ll get back to you on how I like them.
Pureology Color Fanatic Leave-in spray
Meg told me about this spray, and I love it. I use it as basically a leave-in conditioner and even though my hair isn’t color treated, it keeps it silky all day. Sometimes I don’t wear it when I want extra volume and am going out on the town, but most days, it’s going in!
Davines medium hold fine hairspray
So, this hairspray isn’t super strong as far as all day hold goes, BUT it’s very flexible and smells amazing. Whenever someone says I smell good, I credit this hairspray over my perfume and it’s honestly one of the main reasons I purchase it.
The Round Lab Birch Juice sunscreen
It’s SPF 50, doesn’t leave a white cast, and feels more like lotion than sunscreen. It also doesn’t add shine and is very light weight! I’ve tried so many different sunscreens over the years and this one has been a game changer. Also, you know I’ve gotta love that Korean skincare.
The Ocean healed my eczema cream
Ok. So this cream was recommended by Rena. Both her and I suffer from eczema. This helped her immensely. She texted us before and after photos and it was insane how much it helped. However, it didn’t do much for my skin. (Granted, I didn’t use it as religiously and as often as she did). I’m going to keep trying it, but this one’s a hit or miss. But hey, if it “hits,” in an eczema situation, it’s worth it, right?
The Light (Children’s Picture Book)
I’ve spoiled my two-year-old nephew with a lot of toys and books, but this book has been his very favorite. It’s a delightful read with a great message and fun illustrations and he asks his momma, Jade, to read it to him every night before he goes to sleep. It’ll make a great gift for all you new aunties and uncles!
Native Deodorant
This is the only deodorant that works for the only sister that played a sport in college. Jade sweats a lot and is super active throughout the day. She claims it’s the only deodorant that works all day long without making her skin feel weird.
Levi’s ribcage straight ankle jeans
Jade hates wearing jeans. It’s a rare thing. Recently she’s found her fit though and claims they’re as comfy as sweatpants, but fit like a glove. And, they’re actually jeans. Everyone needs those everyday comfy jeans. It just took her 30 years to find them!
That’s all for now! If you have any favorite products you’re loving, please share with us in the comments below. I always love to get recommendations from friends rather than social media!
I hope that if you try any of these out, you dig them as much as we do!
